Privacy Policy

Effective: April 14, 2026 · Last updated: May 5, 2026

Introduction

PureSoft Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") operates ClearMind AI. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application, ClearMind AI. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Authentication & Anonymous Identity

ClearMind AI does not require you to create an account. There is no email, password, or social login. Instead, a random device identifier (UUID) is generated on first launch and stored securely in your iOS Keychain. This anonymous identifier is used solely to authenticate requests to our backend and enforce usage quotas — it is not linked to any real-world identity.

Information We Collect

When you use ClearMind AI, the following data is collected and processed. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections to our self-hosted infrastructure.

  • Anonymous Device Identifier (Device ID) — A random UUID generated at first launch, stored in your iOS Keychain. Used to authenticate requests and track usage quotas without linking to any real-world identity.
  • Usage Counters — Request counts, quota state, and anti-abuse checks tied to your anonymous identifier.
  • User Content (temporarily) — Text you submit for AI processing (summarize, polish, expand) and audio files uploaded for server-side transcription are sent to our self-built API server. This content is processed and the response returned; it is not retained on our servers after processing.
  • Push Notification Token (FCM) — A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver task reminders and notifications to your device.
  • Analytics Data — App lifecycle events, feature usage events, and error/crash reports collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. These are anonymized and not linked to any personal identity.
  • Device Info — Locale, language, and OS version, used for service optimization and analytics.
  • Ad Conversion Data (On-Device) — Conversion measurement data processed entirely on your device via Google Ads On-Device Conversion SDK. No personal data is sent off-device.
  • Advertising Data (Free Users) — For free-tier users, Google AdMob may collect device information (model, OS version), ad interaction metrics (views, clicks), and — if you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission — your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to serve personalized ads. Premium subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to this data collection.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

  • No real name, email address, or phone number for anonymous users.
  • No user profile storage — no personal profile is stored on our servers.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • No audio data leaves the device for free users using on-device transcription (on supported locales).
  • No IDFA collected by PureSoft Ltd — IDFA is only used by Google AdMob (a third-party SDK) for personalized ads, and only when you explicitly grant ATT permission. Premium users are exempt from all ad-related data collection.
  • No user data is sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI). All AI processing runs on our self-built infrastructure.
  • No precise location data is collected.

Transcription Architecture

ClearMind AI uses a two-tier transcription model to balance privacy and capability:

  • Free Users — On-Device First: Audio is processed entirely on your device using Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer with on-device recognition enabled. No audio data is sent to any server for supported locales. If on-device transcription fails or your locale is not supported, audio may be uploaded to our self-built API server as a fallback.
  • Pro Users — Server-Side: Audio is uploaded to our self-built, self-hosted API server for server-side transcription, which supports longer recordings (up to 1 hour). Audio is not retained after transcription is complete.

Local-Only Data

Your user-generated content is stored primarily locally on your device:

  • Audio Recordings — Stored locally in your device's Documents/Recordings/ folder.
  • Tasks and Notes — Stored locally via SwiftData (on-device).
  • App Preferences — Stored locally on your device.
  • You can configure auto-deletion periods for recordings and completed/incomplete tasks: 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, or never. The default is "never."
  • You can clear all local data at any time using the "Delete My Data" option within the app.

When Data Is Sent to the Server

The following scenarios result in data leaving your device:

  • AI Text Processing — Text submitted for summarize, polish, or expand features is sent to our self-built API server for processing.
  • Server-Side Transcription — For Pro users, or as a fallback for free users when on-device transcription is unavailable, audio is uploaded to our self-hosted server for transcription.
  • Usage Tracking — Anonymous usage counters are sent to our backend for quota management and abuse prevention.
  • Push Notifications — Your FCM token is registered with Firebase to enable notification delivery.
  • Crash & Analytics — Anonymized events and crash reports are sent via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

Purpose of Processing

We process the limited data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Operation — AI text processing (summarize, polish, expand) and transcription, all on our own infrastructure.
  • Quota Enforcement — Tracking usage limits for the free tier.
  • Abuse Prevention — Rate limiting and anti-abuse checks.
  • Push Notifications — Delivering task reminders and notifications.
  • Reliability and Security — Crash reporting, error tracking, and service monitoring.
  • Analytics — Understanding feature usage to improve the product.
  • Subscription Management — Verifying Pro status and entitlements.

Third-Party Services

ClearMind AI uses the following third-party services. All AI processing uses our self-built infrastructure — no user data is sent to third-party AI services.

  • Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — Collects anonymized usage events, feature interactions, and crash reports for service improvement. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Delivers push notifications to your device using your FCM token. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdMob — Used to display ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device information, ad interaction data, and — with your ATT consent — your IDFA to serve personalized ads. Premium subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to AdMob data collection. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure.
  • RevenueCat — Manages in-app subscription entitlements using your anonymous device identifier and subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Ads On-Device Conversion SDK — Measures ad conversion on-device only. No personal data is sent off-device to Google. ATT is respected.
  • Apple StoreKit — Handles payment processing for App Store purchases. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Advertising

ClearMind AI is free to download and use. To support the free tier, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob is a mobile advertising platform operated by Google LLC.

  • What AdMob collects: AdMob may automatically collect device information (model, OS version) and ad interaction metrics (ad views, ad clicks) for ad delivery and optimization. If you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission, AdMob may also collect your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to serve personalized ads.
  • AdMob's Privacy Policy: Google's data practices for AdMob are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Premium Users: Premium (Pro) subscribers do not see any ads and are not subject to AdMob data collection.
  • Ad Content: PureSoft Ltd does not control the content of advertisements served by Google AdMob. Ad content is determined by Google based on your profile and device context.

Advertising Identifier (IDFA) & App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS, Apple requires apps to request your permission before accessing the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). ClearMind AI requests ATT permission for free-tier users only, in accordance with Apple's requirements.

  • If you authorize tracking (Allow): Your IDFA is shared with Google AdMob, which uses it to serve personalized advertisements tailored to your interests.
  • If you deny tracking (Ask App Not to Track): Your IDFA is not accessed. You will still see ads in the free tier, but they will be non-personalized (contextual ads only).
  • Premium users: ATT permission is not requested, as Premium subscribers do not see ads.
  • Changing your preference: You can change your tracking preference at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Advertising Data — Summary Table

The following table summarizes the data collected for advertising purposes in the free tier:

Data Type Purpose Collection
Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) Personalized ads Optional — requires ATT permission
Device Info (model, OS version) Ad targeting & delivery Automatic (AdMob SDK)
Ad Interaction (views, clicks) Ad optimization Automatic (AdMob SDK)

Our Backend Infrastructure

All AI processing — including summarization, text polishing, expansion, and server-side transcription — runs on our own self-built, self-hosted API server. Our backend is built with Node.js and is hosted on our own infrastructure (clearmind-api.puresoftltd.com). No user data is sent to third-party AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google AI. All communications use encrypted HTTPS connections.

Data Retention

Our data retention practices are defined as follows:

  • User Content (Text & Audio) — Processed transiently and not retained on our servers after the response is returned to your device.
  • Anonymous Usage Counters — Retained for quota enforcement and abuse prevention for the duration necessary for service operation. Contact us to request deletion of your server-side usage data.
  • Crash & Analytics Data — Retained by Firebase for their default retention period (typically 90 days) or as configured.
  • Local Data (Recordings, Tasks) — User-controlled via auto-deletion settings (7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, or never).

Data Deletion and User Controls

You have the following controls over your data:

  • In-App "Delete My Data" — Removes all data stored locally on your device: audio recordings, tasks, and associated files. This is a local-only operation.
  • Auto-Deletion Settings — Configure retention periods for recordings and tasks independently (7, 14, 30, 60, 90 days, or never). Auto-cleanup runs at most once every 6 hours.
  • Revoke Microphone Permission — You can revoke microphone access at any time via your device's Settings app to prevent any future audio capture.
  • Anonymous Mode & Account Deletion — ClearMind AI uses anonymous device-based identification. No personal profile is stored on our servers. Server-side personal profile deletion is not applicable because no personal profile exists. Only anonymous usage counters are retained server-side.
  • Request Server-Side Data Deletion — You may contact us at m@puresoftltd.com to request deletion of your anonymous usage counter data.
  • Opt-Out of Ad Tracking (IDFA) — You can disable ad tracking at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If disabled, you will still see ads in the free tier, but they will be non-personalized.
  • Opt-Out of Analytics — You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings (ATT).
  • Remove Ads Entirely — Upgrading to a Premium (Pro) subscription removes all advertisements and ATT permission requests.
  • Subscription Management — For App Store purchases, manage or cancel via Apple ID Settings.

Your Privacy Rights

If you reside in a region with specific data privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), you have certain rights regarding your personal data. Because ClearMind AI operates anonymously and we do not store personal profiles, traditional access or deletion requests for server data are limited in applicability:

  • Right to Access — Limited, as no personal profile is stored.
  • Right to Deletion — On-device data can be cleared by you at any time. Server-side anonymous usage counters can be requested for deletion via support.
  • Right to Opt-Out — ATT manages ad tracking. Analytics can be limited via device settings.
  • For any privacy rights inquiries, contact us at m@puresoftltd.com.

Children's Privacy

ClearMind AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app, please contact us at m@puresoftltd.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
